What Artlint is

5 questions

What is Artlint?

Artlint is a quality-control tool for AI-generated video. It checks a clip for potential visual glitches, continuity errors, and technical faults, then returns a report of flagged moments with the source frames behind each one. Artlint does not edit the video: you review the evidence and decide what to fix before you publish.

#what-is-artlint

Can Artlint tell whether a video is AI-generated?

No. Artlint is not an AI detector and does not try to be. Artlint checks video quality, not how a video was made. It can flag glitches that often appear in AI-generated video, but finding a glitch, or finding none, is not proof that a video is or isn't AI-generated. When a file carries its own origin metadata, such as C2PA Content Credentials, Artlint shows a summary of what that metadata declares, and nothing more. Data & privacy describes what that summary includes.

#is-it-an-ai-detector

Does Artlint fix my video?

No. Artlint flags potential issues for review. You decide what to change in your editing or generation workflow.

#does-it-fix-video

Who is Artlint for?

Artlint is for anyone who publishes or delivers AI-generated video. That includes solo creators, agencies, and studios who want a second look at a clip before it reaches an audience or a client. Developers can also add Artlint checks to their own tools with the Artlint API.

#who-is-it-for

Is Artlint in beta?

Yes. Artlint is currently in beta. Checks, pricing, and the developer API are live, and the product is still being refined. Data & privacy describes the current beta implementation, including the data-handling terms that are not final yet.

Checks & coverage

7 questions

What does Artlint check?

Artlint looks for visual glitches, continuity changes, and technical faults. That includes visual distortions, objects that change shape, appear, or disappear, garbled text, and changes to characters, outfits, props, and locations across shots. It also checks for issues such as flicker, black or frozen frames, and audio levels. Lip-sync checking is not available yet.

#what-does-it-check

Will Artlint find every issue?

No. Artlint can miss problems or flag intentional effects. Review the evidence and make the final creative decision yourself. Each report also shows checks that were skipped, unavailable, or incomplete, so a part of the video that was not assessed is not mistaken for a clean result.

#will-it-find-everything

Does Artlint check character consistency between shots?

Yes. Artlint flags unexpected changes in a character's appearance between shots. Examples include a mole or scar that appears from one shot to the next, and clothing, jewelry, or accessories that change or disappear. Some changes are intentional, so treat each flag as a moment to review rather than a confirmed error.

#character-consistency

Can Artlint spot garbled text in AI-generated video?

Yes. Artlint flags garbled words and distorted letters. It looks at lettering in the frame, such as signs, menus, and labels, where AI video generators often invent letters or produce words that don't exist.

#garbled-text

Can Artlint check lip sync?

Not yet. Lip-sync checking is not available in Artlint. Artlint checks audio levels, but it does not compare speech with mouth movement. Review dialogue scenes yourself before you publish.

#lip-sync

How does Artlint handle intentional stylistic effects?

Artlint may flag them. Artlint cannot know whether a surreal transformation, a stylized flicker, or an invented sign is deliberate. Treat flagged findings as prompts for review rather than verdicts, and keep what you meant to make.

#intentional-effects

Do paid plans get more checks?

No. Every Artlint plan includes the same available checks. A plan sets the maximum video length and how many checks can run at once, not which issues Artlint looks for. Compare plan limits on the pricing page.

Reports & evidence

5 questions

What is in an Artlint report?

A list of flagged moments, each with the source frames behind it. Each finding marks when the potential issue appears in the video, describes it, and links to source-frame evidence you can inspect in the Artlint app. The report also shows coverage gaps: checks or parts of the video that could not be completed.

#whats-in-a-report

What is source-frame evidence?

Source-frame evidence is the original frames from your video that a finding is based on. Artlint shows the frames at the flagged moment so you can judge the issue yourself instead of relying on a label. Evidence supports your review; it is not proof of a defect.

#source-frame-evidence

What does it mean when a check is skipped or unavailable?

It means part of the video was not assessed, which is different from a clean result. Artlint shows skipped, unavailable, or incomplete checks separately from completed checks with no findings. Read those gaps alongside the findings before relying on a report.

#skipped-checks

Does a report with no findings mean my video has no issues?

No. No findings means Artlint did not flag anything in the checks that completed. Artlint can miss issues, so watch the video yourself before you publish and look for any parts the report lists as not checked.

#no-findings

Can I export Artlint findings?

Yes. You can export a report's findings as a CSV file from the Artlint app. Developers can also read findings as structured data through the Artlint API.

Credits & pricing

6 questions

How much does a check cost?

One credit per second of video, rounded up, with a 10-credit minimum per check. A 22-second video uses 22 credits, and a 5-second video uses 10. You get 20 free credits to start. Monthly plans start at $15, and credit packs start at $10. You'll see the cost before starting. View pricing.

#how-much-does-a-check-cost

Can I try Artlint for free?

Yes. Every new Artlint account starts with 20 free credits, and no credit card is required. That covers one video up to 20 seconds, or two clips up to 10 seconds each. To check longer videos, up to the Free plan's one-minute limit, add a credit pack.

#free-trial

Can I use Artlint without a subscription?

Yes. Start with the free credits, then buy credit packs as you need them. Small is $10 for 600 credits, Medium is $47 for 3,000, and Large is $170 for 12,000. Pack credits are valid for 12 months. Packs add credits, not plan upgrades: Free stays limited to one-minute videos and one check at a time.

#without-subscription

What do Artlint's monthly plans include?

Each plan adds a monthly credit allowance and raises the video-length and simultaneous-check limits. Creator is $15 a month for 900 credits and videos up to 5 minutes. Pro is $45 a month for 3,000 credits, videos up to 10 minutes, and 2 checks at once. Studio is $150 a month for 12,000 credits, videos up to 30 minutes, and 3 checks at once. Compare plans.

#monthly-plans

Do unused Artlint credits roll over?

Monthly plan credits don't roll over. Credit pack credits last 12 months. Monthly credits are added on the first of each month, and Artlint uses them before pack credits. You can change or cancel your plan in the app.

#credits-roll-over

Do I get credits back if a check fails?

Yes. Credits for a failed or canceled check are returned. If part of a long video couldn't be analyzed, Artlint returns the credits for that portion when the report is published.

Files & limits

4 questions

What video formats does Artlint support?

Artlint accepts MP4, MOV, and WebM files. Some codecs may not be supported. Artlint confirms whether a file can be analyzed while it prepares the video.

#supported-formats

What is the maximum file size?

2 GiB per file, on every Artlint plan. File size is separate from video length: the plan sets how long each video can be.

#max-file-size

How long can my video be?

Up to 1 minute on Free, 5 minutes on Creator, 10 minutes on Pro, and 30 minutes on Studio. Credit packs add credits but don't raise these limits. Artlint measures the actual duration while preparing the video. Compare plans.

#max-video-length

How many videos can Artlint check at once?

One at a time on Free and Creator, two on Pro, and three on Studio. The limit applies across your whole account, including checks started through the API. A check frees its slot when it completes, fails, or is canceled.

Privacy & retention

6 questions

What happens to my uploaded video?

Artlint processes the upload to create playback media, source frames, a report, and evidence. These records are scoped to your workspace, and Artlint supports private storage and controlled access to media. Retention and processing depend on the workspace's configuration. Read Data & privacy for the current beta details before uploading sensitive material.

#what-happens-to-uploads

Can I upload confidential footage?

Confirm the beta terms first. Before uploading sensitive or unreleased material, review Data & privacy and contact Artlint to confirm the processing and retention terms that apply during beta.

#confidential-footage

Does Artlint send my video to other AI providers?

It can, depending on how the workspace is configured. Visual analysis can send selected media and analysis instructions to providers configured for the workspace. A published policy covering those providers' retention and training-use terms is not available yet; Data & privacy has the current details.

#analysis-providers

Does Artlint read my video's metadata?

Yes. Artlint reads origin metadata, such as C2PA Content Credentials, and shows a summary with the video. The summary covers who signed the credentials and when, the tools and source type they state, and the provider an AI-content label names. It leaves out author names, identity claims, locations, and device details, and Artlint does not contact any address a file names.

#origin-metadata

Can I delete a video and its report?

Yes. A workspace owner or admin can delete a video in the Artlint app. Deleting a video removes the original file, its playback copy, its reports, and its evidence, and it cannot be undone. The Artlint API can delete an analysis's video, report, and evidence the same way.

#delete-video

How long does Artlint keep my video?

Artlint has not published a fixed retention schedule yet. Retention controls and deletion workflows are part of the product, but production retention guarantees are still being verified. Don't assume automatic deletion on a fixed schedule; contact Artlint to confirm how your footage is handled.

#retention-period

API & workflow

4 questions

Does Artlint have an API?

Yes. The Artlint developer API is available. Submit a video file or URL, follow the analysis, and read its summary and structured findings from your own tools. Read the API quickstart.

#is-there-an-api

How is Artlint API usage priced?

The same as the app: one credit per second of video, with a 10-credit minimum. App and API checks share the organization's credit balance and plan limits. Each API request sets a credit ceiling, and Artlint starts a check only when the whole clip's price fits within it.

#api-pricing

Can Artlint notify my system when a check finishes?

Yes, by webhook. Register an endpoint under Account → Webhooks to receive a signed completed, failed, or canceled event. Polling the analysis through the API also works. Read the webhook docs.

#webhooks

Does the Artlint API run the same checks as the app?

Yes. The API runs the same Analysis as the Artlint app. API results include the analysis summary, findings, and coverage gaps. Full reports and source-frame evidence are currently available in the Artlint app, not through the API.
